"In the Eyes of the Beholder" to Benefit Children

To herald in the 2nd Anniversary of Kendra Gallery, we want to give back to the community. Together with The John Fawcett Foundation, a humanitarian organization that assists people in need throughout Indonesia, we will host a charity event in the eyes of the beholder to celebrate the gift of sight and beauty of art at Kendra Gallery on Jalan Drupadi 88B, Seminyak, Bali, on Saturday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m.

Our goal is to raise US $35,000 to provide cataract, cleft pallet and artificial eye operations for 100 children and young adults – that’s only US $350 to give a child a new lease on life through the gift of sight.

We opened in June 2008 with a non-commercial, fund-raising exhibit, in our wish to express our commitment to the place that nourishes and inspires us. It was an homage to two primary sources of art and artists in Indonesia: Bali and Jogyakarta. This event was a forerunner to future art-based charitable events and the promotion of social awareness that will hopefully be a regular element of our activities at Kendra Gallery. We are happy and honoured to join the like-minded art professionals in Bali and the world to motivate and inspire creativity and continue to develop Bali as an international centre for contemporary art.
